In my opinion, it is better to confront the person. Politely tell her to keep the noise low. If it is embarrassing for you then send an email to her or something. You have to let her know that it is disturbing you before you start filing complaints or retaliating.

What if I have never seen her? dont know who she/he is? also, we dont share common door to our apartments, its just a wall that we share.
